After finishing primary school, Harry took from 1958 till 1961 lessons at the school for design R.E.C. in Amsterdam. By working at the Godard studios in Amsterdam on projects for Philips, KLM and Michelin he received his first work experience. Through his practice with interior design, his carrier took on a commercial direction. In the mean time his profound interest in fine art made him study art with the art foundation ‘De Werkschuit’, studio ‘van Gogh museum’ and finally the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam.
Harry specialised himself in portrait, model and fantasy.
During his study at the Academy, he was a member of the examination committee.
